This year, our theme for the show is: Black Canadians in History.

This is Harriet Tubman, a prominent black Canadian.

It has been a long time since we have kept in touch! But do not fret...we have some exciting news.

We have come up with a list of acts we want for the show. Here is the list:

• 3 Monologues
• 1 skit about slavery (Africville)
• Underground Railway
• A song which involves audience participation
• African Dance
• Reggae dance
•   Lebo + Lucia à marimbas/saxophone act
•  Comedy Skit
• Step
• The “Inventors” Skit à the skit about if there were no black people in the world
•   2 covers of 2 different songs
•  Oscar Peterson dedication (Dorcas Lei)
• Hip-hop dance
•   Poetry Slam à 2 poems
•  1 skit about athletes
•  Fashion Show

Attention all CB students - There will be a Black History Month Club interest meeting in room 126 tomorrow at lunch! Everyone is welcome to join and have fun.

Our BHM group has created a Facebook group! The group is called: CB Black History Month Group 2010- 2011. Come join the group and stay updated!

Are you creative? Do you like to help organize events? Do you want to meet new people? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions and you are currently in grade 12, you should come to BHM's interest meeting on Monday, September 13, 2010. This meeting is for twelfth graders who want to help organize this year's Black History Month Show. The meeting is at lunch in room 126.
